What is the best age for a child to start coding?

Children can begin programming concepts around ages 7–8 through visual tools such as Scratch. Around ages 10–12, many students can move into typed languages such as Python, depending on typing comfort and interest. Live mentor-led projects work better than passive videos at every age.
